Is dark wood the only interior color for Silver?
I know there are a bizilion Silver Lexus out there but it's my favorite color on these cars. My '04 was Silver with Ash interior and I was good with that combo. So as I look around at LS460 it seems as though Silver comes in either Ash or Black interior both of which have the dark wood grain trim. I don't care for the dark trim and would much rather have the rosewood colored trim like I had in my '04. Does the Silver LS460 only come with the dark wood grain?
My second color would be Maroon with the tan interior and rosewood trim. I really don't like the dark wood trim enough that I might pass on Silver.

Pre 2013 the silver only comes with black or grey, or very rarely ecru. Grey always has the ash (grey) birds eye maple trim. Black has a cherry red stained trim, always. Grey and black never have the same color wood in these years LS460. The wood trim in the tan interior and the black interior is identical in these years. You can also get ecru, which is almost white and that has a glossy espresso colored wood in 07-09 and matte brown in 10-12, ecru can be had with silver but it is VERY rare.
2013+ silver can be had with black, grey or flaxen, all which mostly come with the shimamoku espresso trim, but the black and flaxen can come with bamboo but its really rare. In order to get a red stained wood you have to get the parchment, which has a glossy wood or the black/saddle tan which has a matte finished wood, but you can't get that with silver.
With silver your choices:
07-12 grey (most common):
07-09 Ecru (rare):
10-12 Ecru (rare):
07-12 black (very common):
13+ Black (most common):
13+ Grey (very common):
13+ Flaxen w/shimamoku (rarer):
13+ Flaxen w/bamboo (very rare):
13+ Black w/bamboo (very rare):
13+ black/saddle tan (rare):

I don't know all those colors by name now but eventually I'll get them.
I've been looking around at 2010+. I found an '11 LS460, Silver with Ash, 5 spoke wheels in chrome, rear spoiler for $21.5k and if it didn't have the dark wood trim I would seriously consider trading my '05 even though I know i would probably take a little loss on it.
I really need to wait a couple more years to step up but it's just real close to everything I would want and the prices are getting better all the time. Once the LS500 is out for a little while the prices should really come down.

Yeah with grey it will always have that ash wood trim, its very similar to the ecru ash trim in the 01-03 LS430 UL. Personally I love that trim...
I wouldn't expect a huge drop when the LS500 comes out, the market has already priced in the 07-12 being considerably different than the 13-17 in the eyes of consumers.

Thanks for all the pics!
The Flaxen interior would absolutely be my first choice. I've only seen that here and there on some GS models, never on a LS model.
Again, thanks for posting all the pics together. It's cool to see the interiors of the '07-'12 right along with the '13+ side by side. I'm torn between those models. I wish I could pick and choose between the two interiors and put them together. The shifter on the 2013+ is obviously much better but I like the Nav unit from the '07-'12 and I slight like the steering wheel a little better as well.
I like the more aggressive front on the 2013+ but I'm also getting to where I like the 2010+ with 5 spoke wheels a lot more every day. I'll have to see how the prices turn out within the next year or so but I wouldn't be surprised if I were to stick to the '10 - '12 LS just from the price difference, especially if I could find one in the Flaxen interior.

Flaxen interior came out in 2013, so no flaxen in the 07-12 cars.
One thing you will find is materials are better in the 13+, you have more stitched trim vs soft touch plastic used in the previous cars. Real metal trim vs plastic. Seats are better in the 13+, they're a little smoother and quieter too.
I think each generation of the LS has its own pluses. I like the 4 spoke steering wheel too, but the 3 spoke is smaller actually in diameter and has a fatter rim. I think if you got used to it you would like the big wide screen in the 13+.

Is that a sport? I thought all sports have air suspension but that one does not. I thought only sports only came in that saddle/matte wood but I just saw a non LS with that combo without the air suspension. I really liked that combo and liked the sports but did not want the air suspension.
