Looking forward to jumping on that rebate again this spring.
Wow, $2 a quart! That's a smokin' deal, DB. I will have to keep an eye out for that. Thank you.

How much oil does your LS take? My '11 takes a little over 9 qts. Based on your cost figures, oil alone for 10 qts. would be $60. FWIW, Costco periodically has Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic on sale for about $27 US for a 6 qt. pack. or about $4.50/qt. I think u can get Toyota filters for under $5 on Ebay. Anyway, thanks for all your input on this forum. You're a big help to many including me.
I don't think spitfirefd is off on his estimate, roadfrog. It would cost me about $65 for 9 quarts of Mobil1 full synthetic from Costco ($6.10 per quart) plus a Toyota filter.
Fair enough....I just assumed American prices are better than Canadian. Typically, anything I shop for in the States is 30% cheaper than here. I've seen Walmarts in Washington state selling 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1 syntheic oil for 21.99, and right now on their site you can get Castrol 0W20 for 22.49 and filters are usually around the 5 or 6 dollar mark.

My dealer charges about $89 for a full synthetic oil change on my LS. Well worth it for me since they also typically hand me keys to a loaner and do an inspection while they're at it. I have yet to attempt an oil change in my LS but this is mostly due to the fact that I want to have full documentation from the dealer for warranty purposes.

Really? Mobil is pretty good about their rebates - unlike Penzoil - who are known for not fulfilling their rebates. I did have to wait a couple months for mine but they did arrive.

There's this Lexus dealership here in Alexandria, Virginia that offers a spring special for $169.99. That includes an oil change, air filters changed, fluids topped off, all around check, and a car wash. That's not too bad, but no other Lexus dealership in the area is offering an oil change special.

I've got about 500 miles to go before it's time so I didn't get a filter yet. I'll probably just go to the Toyota Dealer 3 miles up the street.

Good choice. Make sure they throw in a free drain plug gasket (mine does). On that note, be very careful to remove the old gasket....90% of the time, it gets stuck to the oil pan and needs considerable effort to remove with a screwdriver or pick. Just don't gouge the pan. Also, what does your dealer charge for the filter? Just curious if it's much different than here in Canada, where I pay about $7

What OCI are you following?

I guess I have time to call and get some prices. I'll let you know what I find out. BTW, I've learned so much about my car from reading your post. And, of course all the other guys too. Thanks. Be back in a few.

Wow! That is crazy. I pay more than that just for my oil in bulk. Well done.

BTW, This will be the first Oil Change since I bought the car in Febuary. I'm going by the sticker on the windshield. Looks like every 5K. I can check my paperwork to verify but, it's been at the Lexus dealer for all the Maint before I got it. All well documented.
