. Lexus service could take care of VSC light issue after I had to jump start - - I was the one that tried disconnecting battery, etc to reset . . . phoned Lexus service for appointment and within an hour while they were doing diagnosis, we saw 2017 LS and decided to purchase instead keeping 2007 or waiting for LS500 - easy decision to eliminate the many decisions later in the year when I expect LS500 to be in short supply and possibly not available with all of the bells and whistles. I had hoped the update would have been for 2017 not 2018.
. Yes, I have been "in like" with LS since it was available locally and purchased our 1st new LS in 1989 (Heritage Burgundy with air suspension, etc., dealer had 2 service bays, the two mechanics also washed the cars and had time to chat with customers - things certainly have changed). I am design engineer that appreciates what it takes to produce a consumer product with fit/finish/reliability of their LS. I did look at latest/greatest CT6 and G90 with all the newer electronics that's missing from 2017 LS, but was not pleased with all around quality and 1st year issues being reported in Cadillac and Genesis forums.

Secondly, I was aware of the short-comings of Cadillac (nothing new), but was not aware of any multitude of issues/complaints regarding the G80/90.
If you don't mind me asking, what Hyundai forum do you visit?
I know that no car is perfect, but as my wife and I begin to get a "new car itch", I have begun researching a few vehicles and over time will begin to narrow down my choices.
Thanks in advance and congrats once again!

I ordered my car so that I could get everything I wanted. It's hard because you have to wait, but it is well worth it to get exactly what you want.
My car took exactly 3 months from the time the order was submitted until the car arrived. Of course that was 10 years ago.

Oh-man, are you getting a second set of wheels or is the shop exchanging the chrome wheels for the OEM ones? How much are you paying for the set? When the time comes, I am thinking of going with a company like Detroit Wheel and Tire for a wheel exchange. The only problem is they will exchange only for the same style of wheel, so I cannot exchange my 19" 15 spoke alloys for 18" 5 spoke chromes.

I use Wheel Specialists in Tempe Az.
They do a lot of work with dealerships and have a good selection of OEM wheels available.
I don't think this site allows links but you can find it if you are interested.
Best of luck on your search

After an expected wait time my sales fellow contacted me to let me know it will be steaming into Long Beach on the 23rd.
Expecting it here by end of the month.
Long wait but it will be worth it.
Now I have to sell off a few aftermarket items from the 08 GS.
That has been one great car!!

Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures of it and you choose an awesome color combo and options. Indeed, I can only imagine how small the sales numbers on the 2017's are going to be and it is exactly what I would have done as opposed to waiting for the LS350TT nee LS500.

IMHO, if you care about money at all, the Genesis G90 is too new out of the barn to save anything. In a year or two, you will probably be able to get a low-mileage CPO G90 for $40K-$50K.
I was interested too, but you can get late LS460s with 15,000 miles (or much less) in the mid $40,000s, so why spend $65-to-70,000 for the G90, even if it is a great car? That's a huge delta.
And the AWD G90s seem to be really up there in price. (I didn't seriously shop around for one beyond online research, but that's my impression. Correct me if I'm wrong here and apologies in advance if I am.)

The G90 is a screaming bargain. You can't compare new to used prices, sure you can always buy something used and pay whatever, but many of us are new buyers. For instance, you can buy a two year old S550 for $75k, who would want a new LS460?
Fully loaded the G90 AWD is $72k. That's really cheap for the class, bear in mind the G90 has no options, it's fully loaded and it's LWB. It's optioned like a $100k LS460L, reclining rear seats, radar cruise, the works. It's like $30k cheaper than anything comparable.
If you lease, an LS460L optioned that way is like $1,150-$1200 a month. My very basic LS460 ($80k sticker) is $950 and that was an excellent deal. A G90 V8 AWD is $700 a month. Huge savings.
Also remember with Genesis everything is included for 3 years. Maintenance, pick up and drop off for service, satellite radio, all the apps, everything.
I'd rather have the Lexus, but IMHO the savings is almost too big to ignore.
