Ya know stripping out the engine bay takes about as long as changing the plugs and the passenger side takes a little longer because you need to jack up the engine just a bit to get that plug out.

Glad it all worked out as well. I will say though, that I didn't notice any difference in performance from my car after changing out the plugs. Not that it didn't run great BEFORE i changed the plugs. I only changed mine because I was somewhat bored and it was "time" to change them.

Yes. 2 hours is the right amount of time for pro to finish the job without a rush. Even roadfrog in our forum can finish the job under 2 hours while having lunch. Ha. Ha.
I'm a mechanic and it took me 2 hours. It was my first time so I went slow figuring it out. After practice I could do it much faster. With pulling the car in, talking to the service advisor or customer, pulling out and returning my tools etc. 2 hours is more than fair. If I was doing it in my garage I would charge 300 including the plugs. Don't expect your car to run any different though.

yes you need to raise the passenger side of the engine just a fraction to be able to get one of the plugs out. If you go back and read threads about DIY spark plug changing you can read about the different ways some of the guys accomplish this. Some with a jack, some with a piece of wood and a pry bar. As the car get's older the engine mounts tend to sag just a little making it impossible to get one of the plugs out.

Kenny

I did not change my plugs because of performance needs. I changed them because Lexus says I had to change at 60K or my emission warranty would be void. The OEM plugs are 100k plugs and still looked very good.
