I'm laughing throughout this whole thread ! I thought I was the only one who did this. The wife already knows, anywhere we go I drop her off at the door and I take another 10min. finding a spot. Sometimes I wish I didn't care but my 07 is absolutely ding free !!

Thank you, CRowe14. My parking skills with this big car have improved in the last 6 weeks as I have been driving it to work more often!

Wow, hardly any daylight on driver's side. Impressive. So how long did it take to park this perfectly?

Please know, that I meant no disrespect with that comment, only mere humor! If I had that LS, I'd be even more careful with it than I am with mine. Very nice LS! Its obvious you take great care of it.

Honestly, you know what helps me? I've always had pretty good depth perception, but also, when the car goes in reverse and the side view mirrors tilt downward, it allows me to see the wheels and the face of the curb perfectly. From there, I just slowly back in. Takes a little practice, but its $$ on the first attempt many times.

It's all in good spirit, CRowe14, so no worries!

Maybe my side mirrors are not adjusted properly (or I may be sitting too far back), but I cannot see the curb and rear wheels when the mirrors tilt down in reverse. I should play with the mirrors a bit. Being able to see the curb would be a big help.

Awesome!! Absolutely in good spirits!
I guess I shouldn't say the actual wheel, but the side of the car/face of the wheel. I typically only use the side view mirror that the curb is on.
Im not sure how it is on the newer LS, but on my '07, the switch has to pushed to the passenger side. Once you put the car in reverse and the mirrors tilt downward, play with the adjustment at that point. I guarantee you'll find a position that will be beneficial. However, the down side is that once the mirrors return to the default position, they may need to be readjusted to how you prefer them to be while driving.

Simply just had to laugh here!
My wife and daughter know the routine all to well..
Store-front drop-off service..."I'll be there in a bit, going to find a space."
Then once we conclude in the store, I'll go walk to the car then pull up to get'em.
Keeps the car very, VERY dent free!
But then I'll kinda be in a quandary on occasion when I'm walking back from my "far-out" parking job, and pass a newer Range Rover or S-Class in the 3rd or 4th spot in from the first available parking space! Its like...really?!?!

Those people might think there are more important thing in their life than little scratch or ding on their cars. Ha ha

You do know that all Lexus's with reverse tilt down side mirrors are all adjustable to tilt further or outward more. All you need to do is while the car is in reverse, the mirror will tilt a little, then proceed to adjust the tilt a little more with your mirror control pad. Tilt until you can see the curb and the rear tire. Then press and hold set on the seat memory. And your all done.

I assumed the amount of tilt was fixed when you put in reverse. I will adjust the mirror in reverse as you say and put in memory, and see whether it still pops back to the original position for forward gear. Thanks for the tip

Forgot to mention you need to set to memory 1, 2 or 3. Whichever one you use for your personal seat memory adjustment. Your Welcome.

Wasn't aware that you could save the mirror location once in reverse mode in memory, then return to its previous setting once in P or D.
Great to know and thanks.

Trust me, being OCD about what we do is an important reason why we are able to afford an LS

Problem SOLVED! I bought a 2003 Toyota Camry that I drive for all local trips and call it my WalMart demolition derby car. Cost $1500 - insurance $175 - mileage 30MPG. This solves my "hypertension" problem when parking my LS460. Thanks for all of the ideas.
