Did you put down a deposit and get anything in writing?

No just texts from the sales person with photos of the red tag sale with the price clearly written.

I'm surprised they ran your credit and you don't have any further documentation.

They asked me to 'lock the deal' and fill out the application online...

Eek! I wonder what numbers they had plugged in. If it had been true, that would really have been a steal. I would be most upset by the fact they ran my credit. But, I'm a stickler about such things.

I hear you on being frustrated and upset but here's my thoughts. That deal is nowhere close to being realistic. I think if it was closer to the actual deal it should've been they might honor it so don't get your hopes up because I'm sure it's far off. You might not want to insist on them honoring the deal and instead ask them to make some sort of goodwill adjustment towards the purchase or lease of another vehicle.

Are you an attorney? You might be right, but this is embarrassing for Lexus. The dealership approached me as a previous customer, offered me the car over several texts at the price, had it online at that price, told me to apply right away as it might be gone tomorrow, ran my credit to put car on hold, and then cancelled the deal. Never happened to me in my life and I have bought maybe 20 cars... Very unprofessional.

I thought that sounded too good to be true.

It's a business, here not going to loose money on a car to honor something they told you. Mistakes happen.

You're probably right. Worth trying though...
