Question stupid question

Are the 2013 models considered 5th gen? If not, are some parts interchangeable with the 07-12 models? I as because i want to lower my 2011 in the near future and was hoping i could use the f sport springs or struts. I apologize if this has been asked already but i wasn't able to find anything.

P.s. i was looking at the Tanabe lowering springs but there seems to be issues with the alignment from what i read.

Thank you all in advance

The F-Sports are on "bags." In other words, air suspension or air struts.

I don't think you can just retrofit that into your car, well, not very easily I'm sure considering the air tanks, compressors, control mechanisms then any after market air control units if you want it to go lower.

They do sell aftermarket air suspensions, but it's very, very expensive. Buying brand new Lexus bags or air struts would cost even more I'm sure and putting it all in is big $$$$$. Someone with an F-Sport could probably provide more information.

Cheaper to just buy a complete coil over IMO, new shocks with springs, although that's expensive too, but better than straight lowered springs in regards to how it impacts the car. Springs would be dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Its just heavily revamped in my opinion and not the 5th generation.

Thank you Rhambler, i did not realize it was on bags. Are the Tanabe's the only option for springs? Does TRD not make any?

I'm not sure. I think the choices are limited.

I wouldn't recommend lowering this by just swapping springs, not on this heavy boat, but I do know some people have done it, I think, versus coil overs or air control units for those with air.

May want to search "lower" or browse the stickied wheel and tire thread to see how other people have lowered their cars.

Good luck.
