Default Navigation Sytem question

2007 LS460. I've been having trouble with my nav system getting lost. Recalibrated 3-4 times only to have it get lost again. All this time it was in Dead Reckoning mode. Now all of a sudden its accurate again and I see the GPS indicator at the top left of the screen. This happened with no input from me. Question is how/why this happened and what determines what mode its in? Dead Reckoning or GPS. Really confused. Any comments very much appreciated.

This has happened to me in the past as well. Sometimes a couple of times a week and each time I had to recalibrate it. For whatever reason, it hasn't happened for a couple of months. I really don't know why it happens.

Tell us all about your Genesis. Is it AWD, V8 etc.? Spill the beans on this Lexus wannabe.

You are losing GPS signal. Usually it's the antenna cable. I would check your head unit first. But is definately is loss of GPS signal. I had a LS430 that I did some modifications to and had similar issue. Cable was loose where it snaps in. I beleive there is some good discussion in that forum on there. That is where I got my info from. Maybe there is a thread in the 460, do a search.
