Replaced the Bridgestones with a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus
#166
Cubbylex, newbie question. How will a 255 fit your 19s? I have 19 X 8 inch wheels and 245/45 tires. How can you be sure the 255 tires will fit your 8 inch rim width? Other than the wider stance (I like too), what are the pros and cons of the wider tire? I am actually more concerned about fit... Thanks a lot!
I did a check on discounts website for upfit and it shows this size to fit. I haven’t done this before on a car but I did on my navigator(which is bigger) but I thought I would try it and see. The tech from discount today did not say they wouldn’t work when he called and confirmed the order so figured it was good. I will double check with him again on Monday when they reopen just to be sure. Always good to double and triple check Should there be a question, I will go to 245s and update here. If no issues, I will, update on 255s as they are broken in so others will have info on those as well. Thanks also to you for your input on this site as well. BestCubby

I've always considered different sizes, but just stay with the stock size and buy the best tires available.

Just got back from having the tires installed. It’s a huge difference, really terrible that they put such crappy tires on such a great car.
Not so much noise, as the Bridgestones were brand new and quiet, but bump absorption is much much better and the car glides more effortlessly down the road.

Hey SW......not sure what I am doing over here in the 4th gen zone....hope I dont get called out Thanks for providing the additional info on the P7s. I dont drive my car enough to rack up any miles on the tires....I believe this was my first rotation and they are still smooth as silk and crazy quiet. I also wonder why Lexus wouldnt put the very best tires on their new cars to show off just how great they are.....but I am sure every dollar counts.
Congrats on making some smart moves......enjoy the ride!

Good to see you!
Really luck of the draw, if I had gotten the Michelin’s I would have left them on until it was a more appropriate time to replace them. Those Bridgestones are such crappy tires...

Hi Steve, nice shoes!! What's your cold inflation pressure? 32 psi? Is the spare wheel also a Bridgestone like the OEM tires?

I have to play with them a little. I'm, running 31 and they feel good, I will try and air them up and down some and see. I ran the 18s on the 2015 at 30-31.
Yeah the spare is still the Bridgestone tire. Its actually one of the ones from the main wheels, somehow one of the wheels got a chip in it so I had them put that one in the trunk as the spare and put the perfect spare wheel out on the car.
The difference is really amazing...

As luck would have it I hit a pot hole last night that I guess caused a weak spot on the side wall...today while driving the tire blew out. So I’m planning to replace my Bridgestones with the P7s. Are yours the All Season Plus version?

I just joined the Pirelli Cinturato club and am thrilled to have those Bridgestone Turanza/Serenity whatevers off my car. I bought the car 2.5 years ago and knowing that I hate Bridgestones, I never rotated the tires. Fast forward about 15k miles, the rears finally showed enough wear to justify replacing.
I only have 30 or 40 miles on the new Pirellis, so initial observation so far is they're quiet, which is important. Tire shop over-inflated to almost 38psi cold, even though I told them 34. I bled off some pressure when I got down the street, going to start out at 34 psi as I drove mostly freeway but do have to traverse the rough and rutted streets of San Francisco.
