2010&2012
There is one of each available at a dealer not that very far from me (about 70 miles away). The 2012 has 31,000 miles, the 2010 has 21,000 miles. The prices are about $6,000 difference. The have pretty much the same options, the 2010 is $37,000, the 2012 is $42,800. Both are CPO
Now how much difference in these model years? I know there is less of a chance of getting a control arm problem in the '12.
How are the prices?
They have what I really want, but it is black and I will not own a black car, that is a '12 at about $43,000 with just over 20,000 miles
So the question I have to decide on is do I wait, do I seriously consider the '12. I would like a car with low 20K miles, I know that at 31,000 miles this should not be a big deal, just something in my head.
Neither has the ML radio, but to be honest I do not listen that often and when I do it is at normal volumes and I believe the regular radio would probably be fine.
OK, replies as alway are welcome.
Thanks
BB

You might want to make a "search thread" that combines all your candidate cars and questions about them rather than starting a new thread for each one. IMO, this consolidation will both reduce thread clutter and avoid rehashing things already said.
You also should first research and report on what other sources, such as Carfax, the Lexus online service history, the KBB estimate, and the market value and deal evaluation at Gargurus say about the vehicle. The more information the better, if you want opinions about the car

I'm thinking the 2011 was the first of the models with pretty much no issues. But here's the deal. This is your money. When you buy a used car for that kinda dough, you need to get what you want. If the color isn't right, you may regret every single day. Without the ML system, sure if you listen to sports talk all day that probably won't be a factor. But, having had two Lexus with ML, I'd never buy another without it. And yes, I listen to sports talk along with SAT radio and cd's as well. No comparison.
As for pricing, I did a quick trip to kbb.com. I put in 2012, LS base and CPO. I chose 22K miles. Average price was $41,500. But still I hope you never pay list. There should be some haggling done.
The LS is an outstanding vehicle. I love every second I'm in my 08. Every person who has ridden in my car is astounded by two things, the quiet smooth ride, and the sound of my audio system. At the end of the day, this is your decision to make. Get what you want, not what you can get. Good luck. Ron

At the price range I would wait until I found the right one and that shouldn't be hard to do. One that's CPO and the ML should be a must. Don't cheat yourself.

As to differences between model years in features and specifications, try a Google search string like this, omitting the beginning and ending single quote marks:
'site:pressroom.lexus.com "product information" "LS 460" 2012'
I usually view the PDF document. Changes from the previous model year are in boldface.
