When my 2012 LS460 got a chip right in the driver's line of sight, I opted for a replacement rather than just fixing the chip. My insurance company (GEICO) said they would pay 100% for a Safelite replacement, but if I wanted an OEM Lexus glass, I would have to pay the difference myself. The Lexus glass costs $1,600, and I was not willing to chip in $800 of my own money, so I opted for a substitute.
Consider my surprise when the Safelite guy showed up with OEM Lexus glass with the Lexus / Toyota logos. He was courteous, and did a great job in my driveway.
Given that there are so many not so pleasant experiences with Safelite on this forum, I thought I should share my positive experience.
Best,
