My 08 had 52,099 when I got it a couple of weeks ago. Now it's up to 52,350 (175 of those was the drive home from the dealership).

Wow that's quite a ride...better find a local repair facility.

2009 Base LS460 120,000 miles. Purchased last year with around 80,000 miles. I just replaced the plugs and belt myself. I usually drive my cars until they have around 200,000 miles.

You put 40k on in a year? Wow I'm impressed, that some serious driving. How were the plugs? Were they worn out after 120k? It's good to hear someone driving it that much with no problems. I have a friend that thinks I'm nuts for driving mine as much as I am right now - he thinks I'd be better off with the es 350 - and he might be right, but I'm going to ride it out with the LS for a while.

The old plugs look pretty good. My job is covering about 6 States in the Midwest. I have been very happy with the Lexus. The only complaint I have is that the paint is thin compared to the German cars that I have driven in the past.

It's going to last a long time if you do preventative maintenance. Just keep up on it and it will last a long time. Toyota motors are known to last 375,000 to 400,000 miles. If you want to keep the prices down shop around for a good independent mechanic and use rockauto.com for parts.

I would suggest calling the local automotive repair bureau in your area. They deal with the good & the bad shops. They will have the inside scoop as to what is happening around your neck of the woods. They can't recommend any shops to you because it's against their ethical code. Just word it in such a way that they don't give you "advice" ask them if they had your car who would they use. Don't ask who you should go to but skirt around in order to get the best shop in town.

Whoa! If I had to spend $3,800 to fix the brakes on a car, any car, I'd dump it and never get one like that again. This is the kind of stuff I hate to hear after buying a new 2014 460L last December.
