If you prefer to "plug in" your VIN then go to: http://www.toyota.com/recall
Get WHAT checked out? Is there recall information down there in the US? I have nothing yet. I thought they were still working on a recall procedure/tool, parts supply etc and that we were looking at the New Year before getting a notice.
I'm not sure if i had already said it, but they said that they would need to do an inspection to see if replacement of the part(s) was required, so i should have said i'm getting the inspection done on Friday.
As i previously mentioned, the shop manager was aware that there was a recall as well, and they were in the middle of putting together letters to send to all of the Lexus owners who's vehicles were affected...

From looking at the documents this recall it's small potato's and it probably costs Toyota pennies on the dollar to replace. It might be a blessing in disguise to get people into the dealership better then any incentive and good PR.
It seems like a simple gasket change on the fuel pressure sender where there is a highly improbable possibility in theory of galvanic erosion of the current gasket that can cause fuel to weep out. It's probably a 15minute fix at most and it will give the mechanics something to do while you shop for a new car. They would probably clear a space shuttle for launch if this were the case.

I don't know if it's just serendipity but if this was an unethical marketing gimmick it would be the most clever way to get people into the dealership with no fault, foul or cost.
