I've looked over this thread and I don't see what you bought or decided on installing.

I got the Dball2 with the SmartStart module. I got some instructions but they're a little difficult to understand. I'm not getting any power or feedback and I followed the instructions to the letter

I need to know about this as well.

I thought the newer Dball2 didn't have auto start from the earlier posts???

I am looking for an auto start that allows all the factory items to still work I don't want it to shut off as i open the door and require an additional start. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I saw the IdataLink and am researching it now.

Anyone knows anything about new software flash for the idatalink module? Bestbuy installer said it could be done. So I bought the module, smartstart, and scheduled an appointment. But when they tried to flash the module, it popped up a window saying it won't work with Lexus Enform. So far, they said it's a no go for any new Lexus with Navigation. I would love to find out otherwise. Please let me know if anyone know a way. Thank you.

Default remote starts

While I love my current Lexus and I loved the one before, this is something I don't understand. Lexus models cost between $32,000 up to and over $80,000 any they don't come with a factory installed, smart phone controlled remote starter. They have the technology in the cars, they just want to to give them even more money to push "Start" on your phone and the car cranks up. My son has an older model truck and it has remote start. You would think for a $50,000 price tag you could keep from freezing your butt off to start a car.

Even my 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco has remote start (as an option though).

Agreed, but it cost me like $75 to install it myself using my factory remote, so it's not that big a deal. Although sometimes I do wonder if it is a matter of financial decisions vs not knowing what people want. I wonder if they have someone on the street to tell corporate, "hey this is what normal people are complaining about".

There's no problem installing remote start on the base model. But when you get the loaded ones, you can't. That should have been a feature included when it says "loaded". When the tech said he can install remote start on all the other Lexus but not mine, I felt like I got the cheapest Lexus out there.

I'm not sure if that set up still work or not. But, I read through the whole post and they said it's not working anymore and the idata module was the way to go. But, now, seems like that's not working either cuz idata won't flash the module. It says that the module will cause conflicts with our Enform and Nav system because they both using the same frequency. At least that was Bestbuy tech explained to me when I asked why he can't do it to my Lexus's but, he can to my Toyota's with Nav and Enform. Weird but, sadly true. I'm hoping someone can prove me wrong so I can get the remote start installed.
