Default 2007 LS Trunk will not close

I am driving a 2007 Lexus LS. Yesterday, the battery died, so I had to jump the car.

The battery was easily jumped, but now the trunk of the car will not close. I am able to push it all the way down, but the latch will not grab and attach.

Also, the automatic trunk button does not work either. When I press the button, I can hear a "click", but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Two things you should try: operate the emergency release that is inside the trunk several times while the trunk is open and if that doesn't help then disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Why was your battery discharged?

thanks. I'll give it a try.

We've been having a couple issues with the battery over the past couple of weeks. We don't drive the car very often. We were being driven wine tasting by a driver when the battery discharged. We think it happened when he was in the car waiting with the radio / ac on (but engine was not on).

Well obviously the car had too much vino!

Sorry refrain, I couldn't resist.

Seriously, my guess is you probably need a new battery. Your car is a 2007, do you know if it has ever had a replacement battery?
