Hello. I'm posting because I'm thinking really hard about buying a pre-owned 2007 or 2008 Lexus LS 460 (SWB), with sat-nav and the Mark Levinson sound system. I don't really have any qualms about purchasing a six-year-old vehicle with, say, 60,000 miles because Toyota/Lexus are reliable and I've never seen anyone with drastic issues on an LS, complicated as they are. I'm twenty with a very stable income, and people tell me that it's an old-man's car...but if so, old men are lucky to be able to drive such a vehicle without it breaking down like a comparable 7-Series, A8, S-Class or XJ. :P I really have no problems with the LS....except...

I H-A-T-E chrome door handles, and if I were to get an LS 460, I'd want them color-keyed to the paint color of the car. It looks to me like the LS 460's door handles are plastic and could be stripped of their plastichrome coating and painted...but more than that, it looks like the IS 350 shares the same door handles, and many of them were body-colored, and could maybe even be found in the right color. Am I right in saying that the 2007 IS 350 and the 2007 LS 460 share door handles?

 

I thought about it and they do look the same. My thing is how durable the repaint will be as well as trying to find is350 door handles because they probably aint cheap. I hate the chrome door handles as well, but chrome on the flagship is to standout.

 

You can easily have them painted, just take it to a good shop and be sure that they remove them to paint them and put them back on...if they prep them properly you won't have any issues with peeling.

I kind of like the chrome handles and miss them a little on the GS.
