Still mousing around with grill options. I'll probably go with one of these two. The red car doesn't really lend itself to look as good as Roadfrog's black. I wanted black or white but wifey wanted red...so we got red.

Yeah TEE, that looks great!
The beauty of the Plastidip is that any modification is easily changed/removed.
I'm intrigued by the ide of blacking out the circle around the "L". I may give it a go and see. Then, if I don't like it, I'll peel it off.

if you took out all the plastic bolts, it might be just one of the clips running along the sides and the bottom that might be still holding the grille on. sometimes when you un-clip one, the others you took off might re-clip back. just continuously make sure all the clips are undone and shimmy it back and forth and it should come off...

I guess I'll just have to 'finesse' it a little firmer. I couldn't get any feeling of retention from the 5 tabs. I thought they were just indexing/positioning tabs for installation.
(Later): OK, GOT IT, thanks again!!
(Later, later)
Was going to separate the inner grill from surround, but looked like there were ten more tabs locking it on. Decided not to push my luck and just removed the whole grill and masked everything. 1st coat drying now.

I suppose I could have used ten shims to keep the latches from relatching as I moved from one to another, but wussed out and masked it.
Fourth coat drying now.

That's the beauty of Plastidip. You don't really need to remove the center OR even be too careful masking. I found my center came out super-easy, but whatevs....
