Default 60K service question.

Hello members. I'm coming up on my 60K service and I see that besides all the things I do myself, the also do a brake fluid change. I was wondering if any members have done this themselves and is it necessary. Ive done my last 2 oil changes and can do this one as well. I just recently purchased a few cabin filter and running K&N in the engine, so the only thing left besides some inspections, is the brake fluid. Thanks in advance.

i can help with 1/2 ur post! im not a DIY person! but i am @ 60k and was told by 2 lexus service centers that the park plugs didnt need changing and that it was basically like a $900.00 old change! lol wouldn't see a difference in my car at all! so i guess you would be ok to just change out the lil things you have done before! the spark plugs are the MAJOR service on the 60k but if u don't need it y pay the $500.00 charge plus the other things u can clearly do yourself!.... :-) goodluck!

Here's the proceedure from the repair manual for a 2008 LS 460. Note the "Caution Statement" regarding using the Techstream.
Because of this, I might have the dealer do it.

iamcandyca, I dont remember plugs being part of my 60k service but if it is, my dealers ranged from 415-515.

jlawr, youre right. I guess thats something I'll have the dealer do. My SA has been pretty good about taking off what I dont want done when they do something to my car like tire rotations. Dont need them so were always take it off the total price.
