I have adapted the cute phrase below from the sign that sits in front of the church down the street:

Know 'L', know luxury.
No 'L', no luxury.

More importantly though, I liked the sleeker look of the SWB. In the end it's all a matter of personal needs and taste.
Being 6'2" and not small, I would like to see some of the extra distance to the dash to the front seat as well. I also would like to see the seats lower a little bit more as I feel I sit higher than I do in some other vehicles. Granted, I'm sure that's partly due to the venting for the AC blowers etc, but oh well.......

i just test drove a 2010 " L" today with air susp and the radar cruise control...i played around with the cruise and i am just amazed at how slick it worked and the ride was really nice...I'm sold and on the hunt for a 2010 White L with this option along with comfort plus and luxury package...what is weird is this L had the seude headliner, rear seats were just heated, not cooled and it DID NOT have the analine leather like my SWB...I am going to email Lexus corporate my VIN so i can figure out exactly what packages I have

I thought i would take some pics of the semi-analine leather upgrade on my 2007 SWB. I haven't seen another SWB in person with this upgrade, even the L i test drove yesterday had seemingly every option with seude headliner but the armrests did not have the soft padded leather like mine ..go figure

I tried to push down on the leather to show you all the thickness of the leather..

My L has the standard leather and the Touring package. I wish it had the Comfort Package and no Touring Package.

Really, I don't see why on an $80K car they didn't all have the softest leather.

Hard to tell leather type by push test in a photo, but that brings up one question I have........what's the difference between the leather on the seats and the leather (?) that wraps the console where your knee rests against? Whatever that is is much different than the leather seats.......

I had an RX loaner that had a stretchable almost rubberlike covering to the door panels which I would freak out about because that seems like it would damage extremely easily......wouldn't be a fan of that all over the car whatever that was.

Bought a L brand new from the dealer. The added space in the rear is well worth it.
What I regret is that i didnt know the L had air suspension as an option. My 460L dont have air. Sucks.

I don't think the actual seats are different, but the leather padding on the door armrests is the most obvious difference..every LS I have seen does not have that..I wasn't sure how to capture the leather differences...I was told my center armrests are much thicker which i was trying to capture..not the smoothness. I have that same leather surface on the sides of the center console also where the knees would rest

I love my 460L. The rear seating room is amazing.
