Default controling back seat AC&AUDIO bottons

I have two (very active) kids, once they are travelling with me in the back seat they do not stop playing with the ac & audio buttons, which makes me soooooooo mad. Is there any way to disconnect power tp those buttons? thanks

If I was a kid today and my Dad had an LS, he would prevent me from pushing buttons by implementing the belt option as often as required until the condition was no longer occurring

Dude, relax..geez!

You have five options as far as I can tell:

1. Whoop (Discipline) your kids if they continute this behavior so they will know not to touch buttons made for adults.

2. Put them in "timeout" and hope they feel threatened enough by that to stop touching the buttons.

3. Unplug the harnesses from under the seat or armrest.

4. Remove the fuses that supply power to those switches. I don't believe there are any " master lockout" buttons

5. Just whoop em up dogg, (that is how I learned not to play with the power convertible button )

Assuming the most straight forward setup rear seat setup...
  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY
    (a) Detach the 3 front hooks of the seat cushion from the vehicle body.
    (b) Detach the 2 rear hooks of the seat cushion from the seatback.
    (c) Remove the seat cushion.
    (d) w/ Seat Heater System: Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST ASSEMBLY
    (a) Remove the hog rings.
    (b) Detach the fastening tape and remove the seat cushion cover from the seat cushion pad.
    (c) Detach the wire harness clamp.
    (d) Remove the 2 nuts and center armrest.
  3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER ARMREST PANEL ASSEMBLY
    (a) Detach the 17 claws and remove the rear seat center armrest panel.
    (b) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  4. REMOVE REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH
    (a) Remove the 4 screws and rear power seat module switch.
  5. REMOVE CURTAIN SWITCH ASSEMBLY
    (a) Detach the wire harness clamps and disconnect the connector.
    (b) Remove the 4 screws.
    (c) Remove the 8 screws and center armrest box with center armrest door.
    (d) Remove the 2 screws and curtain switch.
    (e) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 switch wire.

You probably should subscribe to All Data DIY the instructions there have clip location photos to help with the job.

As my Dad would say back in 1980: "You can go ahead and push that power convertible button if you want to Bubba, just know imma whoop yo azz"...then I decided to play with my matchbox cars instead

Hey !!!!!!!! Whatever happened to "Option # 2" ??? I kinda liked the one. Seemed kinder ("#2 - Put them in "timeout" and hope they feel threatened enough by that to stop touching the buttons). LOL.

Forgive me ....... This is one of the funniest threads ever started here. And it makes me glad CJITTY wasn't my Dad. LOL !

Moving the center console up and sit one in the middle? If you have the 4 seater executive option then sit in the back with a kid on your lap other on the side and chauffeur driving. If neither works then really you have a long 18 years ahead of you if discipline problems are not your strength.
