Got around to do a test drive on the Mercedes S550. Well, contrary to the popular car magazine review theme I did not find it to handle any "better" than the LS600h I test drove before. Less isolated, perhaps a bit more communicative, and a lot noisier. And remember, we are looking at a type of the vehicles where "handling" is more of a "theory" than anything else, so it is a bit forced. And it immediately felt that the LS was a more sophisticated vehicle. One interesting point thought - while the S-class does not have as nice looking interior, I liked the choice of materials better. The buttons, switchgear etc for the most part was better quality. Like real aluminum vs plastic parts in the LS.

Anyway, now I don't feel I would lose anything in the "fun to drive", "handling department" as those cliches the magazines like to use. So if I manage to find a post 2010 beige interior LS600h for decent price, I'll be getting one.
