ls460 sport brembo brakes too dusty
hi all, i have a 2011 ls460 sport with brembo brakes. anyone know a cure for the black brake dust. does any body make brake dust shields for the 19" wheels or replacement pads that would cure the problem. you almost have to clean the wheels every time you use the car. other than that it is a GREAT car. thanks.................bud

Until Akebono makes ProACT pads for that Sport brake option, I would invest in a small black jar that simply says "Wheel Wax" on it from your local auto parts store..apply a couple coats of that and it will work wonders! The dust asily comes off with a rag and resists dust from sticking to wheel. Better yet, let wheels cool down and just spray with water...easy!!! I have proact pads now and no more dust issues!

I absolutely do NOT recommend "dust shields" - they are more trouble than they are worth.
So what would I do: First, I'ld call The Place For Brakes in Miami and ask if they offer an alternative brand that WILL work on your model Lexus. If not, then I'ld starting working the phones to contact NAPA and other parts dealers to see what they offer.
I will only use AKEBONO's. If that solution was not available to me, I'ld use a good quality ALTERNATIVE Ceramic Brake Pad.
Good Luck. And please let us know how this turns our for you. There are a lot of Sport Model LS460 owners here who are interested in learning about an alternative. And thanks for asking.
And PS: CJITTY's suggestion of WHEEL WAX is a great suggestion you would enjoy following.
