I can't even begin to fathom/estimate how much damage would be done if there were any sort of control arm failure. *shiver*

Personally, I would be willing to pay $5-700 for each upper control arm if they were made structurally correct. From what I remember looking underneath the car, it almost seems as if Lexus is discouraging the use of aftermarket arms, seeing how the geometry under our cars (specifically the front/rear upper control arms/knuckles) is kinda intimidating.
Indeed.
In the past I had held off on developing things like toe links and traction rods because I felt like there were enough places to get these things. After many customer expereinces with them wearing out and worst case the welded rod ends breaking, we decided to come out with our own using 1-peice forged rod ends, teflon lined and multiple grades so the customer could choose which duty they would use. Megan and Hard Race do their thing and customer will always flock to a product with a low price tag. In the end there is a minimum level of quality at a given price point. There are also other considerations like how long the products will last and if you can buy replacement parts. Its the difference between local support and buy at your own risk fulfillment. Long term testing across a broad range of applications is key to product development and this is how we have to release products that we can be sure are safe for the road.

I just want to go on the record stating that I am supporting ANY vendor who is committed to making a solid product that is durable, dependable, provides easy adjustability back to oem ranges for camber/toe/caster and make it so that it is somewhat affordable that will allow a good majority of non wealthy enthusiasts such as myself to enjoy our lowered cars again.

I picked up a set of quality rear adjustable control arms for my Acura TL by Ingalls for $150 back in 2007 and 5 years later, they are as good as new even today. The rear provided adjustability that actually brought my fronts back into range without needing a front kit..which was a huge bonus, but I had a simple HR Sport drop similar to Tanabes. So that is my only experience with camber kits and why I initially mentioned Ingalls and reached out to them first.

I know the LS is no Acura TL, but I know quality products can be made and don't have to be $10K or whatever the Japanese versions are..they must of been gold plated and auto adjust while driving or something for that ridiculous price.. I dunno.

BUT, once again, I am supporting ANY vendor who is committed to the cause and will develop a product for us that will last. And I am willing to pay more than $150 lol.

I don't know anything about Megan, SPC or other companies since I have never used them before. So, the vendor I am endorsing is who ever solves this issue with a quality product. I hope something happens soon.

Bottom line is, what kind of timeframe can we realistically expect a product to be developed, tested, approved for sale and be in our hands for install? 6 months, 1 year, 2 years? I may sound impatient, but I'm sure I can't be the only person wondering just how long all this will take...we are all waiting for this major news, so vendors.. please excuse our eagerness. Weez hungry out here bawse!!

Coming from an Acura myself, the Acura suspension was very simple. An entire camber kit for the car composed of 4 upper adjustable control arms or ball joints depending on which brand you chose. As much as I wish the cost of the Acura arms could be relative to our Lexus, the truth is, our suspension geometry is light years ahead and far more complex. The LS front axle alone has more pieces than the entire Acura TL suspension, and the LS front axle actually has less arms than the rear axle because of the tension arms.

There's a total of 14 arms and 2 toe links that make up the suspension for our cars. If a company manufactures just upper control arms to correct camber, without making adjustable toe arms, the toe alignment will never be in spec and will actually deteriorate the tire life even more than some are already experiencing/complaining about. The reason why I mentioned before that I am hoping a company can essentially replicates the T-Demand arms is because the (i) T-Demand arms are the only arms on the market that are every way adjustable to have an alignment tailored to any ride height, and (ii) this is the proper way to perform an alignment for our cars.

I do agree with you that quality products don't need to cost $10K; however, for everyone that thinks that all the arms for this car are going to cost less than $1,000, I think you're somewhat kidding yourselves.

I intend to work on this and the arms do appear to be complicated but it should be fun to develop. I mostly want a local car so I can feel steering and stability responses and get data on how setup should be done. Adjustable still means youneed to target certain settings and look at bump maps etc. The question is not only what to adjust but where to leave it.

Well, I found a guy in Denver who is "thinking" of getting an LS460 but seemed like he was willing to help. I suggested getting a 24 hour test drive lol. I have been PMing with him.

If you have access to an owner with a local car, what should that owner expect as far as how much time you would need with it? I want to let them know because some of us have offered some payola for their time and effort to get over to a shop like yours that is developing a solution. Are we talking about having access to the car 1/2 dayt, full day, overnight, multiple days at a time..what is your ideal scenario and options from your perspective?
