please help guys!

my 09 LS460's headlights are pointing towards the ground.

seems that the AFS is pointing the lights down. when i turn the wheel the headlights turn left and right.

i can't see at night and it is hazardous to both me and others.

i tried adjusting them with the adjustment screws but nothing seemed to have changed.

any ideas. am i doing anything wrong.

 

I had that problem on my 2007 LS460. It's a sensor that points to the ground and it is installed somewhere in the front of the car. Take it to the dealer, they should replace that part fairly quickly. Hopefully it's still under warranty for you. It's just a small sensor that constantly measures the distance between the front of the car and the ground in order to keep the light leveled, in case you have passengers and luggage, etc...

 

i am pretty sure i am out of warranty which means it will probably cost a lot for me to take the car to the dealer. is there another way of remedying this? thank you.

 

Not that I know of. I'd take it there and have them look at it. Even if you have to pay for it, it shouldn't be an expensive part. They will also adjust the beams to spec which is a good thing.
