ls-460l-has anyone rewired the puddle lights on the exterior mirrors to serve as puddle lights and turn signal lights?i haven't looked at the wiring diagram yet,but i'm sure it's a relatively strightforward wiring change with the addition of a few diodes.?

Would they even be bright enough? Would have to put yellow bulbs in mirrors i would assume. I probably would do a custom side marker turn signal project on the fender. I wish i had the 2010 mirrors

considering that the light is at the bottom of the mirror, i think the effect would be minimal

I agree, the light would not be visible bc its on the bottom plus the lens is flat.
Although, I remember seeing in a local car meet a guy who retro fit of some sort of bubble type lens on the bottom of the mirror to get the effect. Mind you it wasnt an LS460...
I really didnt think it was effective enough considering the work the guy said he did.
He had wired in an extra light (amber) into the lens to serve as the turn signal and had the normal light for the puddle light. If hes out at the next meet Ill take a snap shot of it and post it.

Yeah, great idea but a hassle for sure. Some LED fender sidemarkers would be hot! I wish there was a way to do an embedded sidemarker light similar to the porsche's in the front fenderwell shining sideways and from vehicles approaching from rear along sides

i think the ls460 in japan (from 07-09, before they have mirror turn signals), they have side markers on the fenders right? they can be wired for turned signals

yes, they do, but then you'd have to drill holes in the fenders, and so on and so forth haha. too much hassle, i think

Its pretty straight forward as far as wiring is concerned, you'd have source out a template as to detail where exactly they mount on the fender. The bad part is that its a bit more than just a simple hole. You have to cut a decent sized hole to accommodate the back part of the marker and pig tail for the bulb.
I've done the mod on my subarus and hondas, I bought the side markers for my LS but I havent gotten around to installing them.
