I remember once using a screw driver to fix an outdoor clock to a wooden post when the screw driver accidently dropped and bounced off a glass side table. Good I thought, the glass didn't break. About 5 minutes later the glass suddenly shattered into little pieces just like the car window. I hadn't touched the table since dropping the screw driver on it. It must have stored some stress on being hit and after a short period of time shattered. There was no dimple or other indication of where it was hit.

I think the difference of the temp inside and outside of the car cause the windshield to crack due to extreme heat and the glass itself may be inferior to other similar glass. Maybe the windshield that's on my Lexus had issues during the manufacturing stage.
Also, I would like to reiterate that it's not cause my vandalism like some kid. It's in a dead end street, well guarded, and there were other nice cars parked behind my car and in the streets.
I called Lexus and got it towed to the dealer n they decline the glass being defective but decided to reimburse me for my insurance deductible. I don't know if they declined my case bc they didn't want to make it public n start a recall on the windshield. They were nice enough to provide me a loaner car n pay my deductible

i thought he's declined of warranty

if it's heat stress, i just find it hard that it shatters completely. when windshield on my sc430 cracked due to high heat stress (110 degrees), it was just one crack across more than half the windshield. same with all the other heat stress cracks i have seen. to have something like that from OP, i am trying to imagine what kind of heat and stress that is
