Default 2 Stupid Questions...Need Help

I have two questions...

First one is my exterior lights do not illuminate when I unlock my 2008 LS460? Is this normal? I have always had high end Mercedes' and have gotten used to that feature.

Secondly, my trunk wont open from the outside. I feel the rubbery thing between the leds and it seems like thats what its for, but it doesnt open it. I can only do it with the remote or from the inside.

Thanks in advance for your help . That freakin manual is like an encyclopedia and I dont have the patience for it bc the index/glossary sucks.

Take it to your Dealership and they will correct your issues. The light feature i'm sure is owner preference and might need to be adjusted back to a default setting, cause when I unlock my 07, the head/tail lights blink and the lights in the rear view mirrors, stay on.

As for the trunk, might be the sensor where you fingers hit is disconnected. Happened to a buddy of mine. The dealership said it probably happened when someone slammed it down, instead of just clicking it into place, allowing it to be sucked into the closed position.

Good Luck

by external lights I presume you mean the puddle lamps under the side mirrors? if so was it evening or dark enough for them to activate? If its dark enough they should activate when you approach the car on the side that you approach on, you need to have the fob with you obviously

for the trunk, make sure your trunk override is turned off in the glove box, drop the door and it will be staring right at you on the left hand side also you need to have the fob with you to activate the trunk manually

welcome to the club! I came from years in the Benz club and am really enjoying my first Lexus.
