LS460 Extended Warranty Pricing
Just out of curiosity what is the cost of extended warranty on the LS460 beyond the original 4 years for basic and 6 years on the powertrain?
Also from what i am researching there is a gold and platinum plan? Whats the price differences?
I have 2 more years of warranty on my 2008 LS460 but i am just curious as to what they charge for an extended warranty as i never bough it before.
I am sure some of you LS460 owners have bought the extended warranty so if you could please chime in that would be awesome

I have read somewhere that it would be ~1,000. Can anyone verify this? If its $1000 thats a steal.

i got a credit union warranty... backed by CUNA ... platinum, zero deduct, 60k 60 mos. for 1399. covers high end electronics like navi, keyless go etc. 1/2 price of equal lex warranty.

price changes at 30k and 35k and 40k, year doesnt matter. i got it at 39k miles to take me to 99k miles.
same warranty for a bmw/merc/etc is $6300

Thanks for the feedback. By way of a comparison, my auto insurance company, GEICO, offers extended warranty coverage that you must begin taking 15 months/15,000 miles after purchase date, whichever comes first. Cost is $50 every 6 months (Annually $100) for the LS. Coverage is for 7 yrs/100,000 miles. Essentially, total cost is approx. $600 for the additional 3 yrs/50000 miles, with a deductible of $250 per incident. Catch: warranty is good only if you maintain coverage with GEICO. My dealer asked for the outrageous amount of $4,135 for 8 yrs/100,000 miles (Lexus Platinum Plan), which is over $800 more than the price suggested by Lexus on their web site!
