Kennedy at Platinum cut, smoothed out and painted the inner rear fender lip to avoid any rust possibility. The rear is a 22x10 with a pretty low backpad. You are probably rubbing due to tire size on the 20's and I am not sure what your offset is either....
that's my problem, i'm running 10.5's in the back. vip supposedly doesn't give offsets for the wheel, they just ask the model and provide proper fitments. i have a 15mm of backpad that can be machined, so that causes it to stick out more.
how much did they charge to cut and paint the inner lip? I rolled mine myself.
With the air suspension ride quality is great...I would say that the folks who have factory air suspension can attest that it is almost the same as stock except for the thinner and stiffer sidewall makes it just a tad bit louder and more firm.
the problem i see with too thin tires is that the ride is so smooth you get used to it and will not know when you bend the wheels. small pothole can cause those to happen. my wife drives the ls more so that's why i played it safe..
widths and offsets are what cause the rubbing. even at 10.5 if the offset is high you can still get away with rubbing. i had aggressive rear offsets on 10.5 so i had to shave the whole fender
shaving the fenders and paint (just touch up basically), i say no more than 150?
Just called and spoke with Javier and they charge $75.00 per corner. They take off the wheel, the inner fender liner, cut the inside of the fender, smooth it out, mask off fenderwell, and paint entire inside of fender where any exposed metal is showing as a result of the cut. Call ahead of time for appointment.....
Looks like your Air suspension failed... Reminds me of the old Lincolns when the air bags would leak and the cars would drop...or a MB at the airport for a week....LOL
