Finally saw another LS600hL on the road
Well, it's been 16 months since I got my LS600hL, and I finally saw another one on the road. It was from the dealership in Tampa, white, pretty.
I followed him for a while, and much to my amazement, he pulled into my community. I kept following him, but eventually pulled off not to freak out the guy.
Must have been pretty weird for him, as I was following him in the Lambo. I mean he accelerated pretty hard at a light, but let's get real now.
I can imagine him coming home saying, "Honey, this Lamborghini kept following me, and I couldn't get rid of him. I pulled into our gated community, finally feeling safe, and he just kept following me."
It's still pretty amazing that this is the first one I have seen on the road in over a year.

I've seen two so far, a red one in Point Roberts, WA sporting BC license plates last summer, and recently, a black one also from BC. That has surprised me, however, my dealer claims to have sold 7 of the over the past year. On the other hand, it's nice to not see them too often, unlike like those more common (and mundane) S550s, S600s and 760Li...

Hehe I suppose the odds are not too different in FL for a Lambo to come across an LS 600h L, or an LS 600h L to come across another?
I've seen several 600h L around SoCal, a Launch Edition, white, etc. 460 and 460 L more common indeed.
One place where the 600h L was more common was in Japan, Tokyo in particular had 600h/600h L sightings quite a bit. Several thousand sales of 600hs and 600h Ls there.
Did not see any in Taiwan, but a Lexus salesman there told me that the allocation for all of Taiwan in 2008 was 50 600h L's and that particular dealership had sold out its allotment of five 600h L's well early in the year.

Yeah - its weird what folks see on the road. I saw a two (2) RR Phantom Coup's on the road today and Zero LS's - Several Ferrari 430F's, Lambo's lots on the wknds.
On Topic - I saw a 600H at Costco the other day - was the navy blue color - Looked very plane jane and I though it was an ES until I saw the H logo next the rear wheel. I guess in my mind the perfect 600 is White on White w/dark windows and chrome wheels.
In my area I see some LS460's - not too many - and seldom do I see LSL's. S550's are much more common.

Actually, the 7 series aren't that common to me either, & I don't think I ever saw a 760Li on the road, all I ever saw are the 750's, but yes, I see the S550's more than anything else, & there is a Black on Black S600 with AMG body kit I saw quite often in our area.
And there is a LS460L with the rare Glacier Frost paint(only for the 2007 model year for the LS in Canada, & never in the U.S. or even Japan) on the Plateau that I saw quite a few times, once, I snapped a picture as I passed by :

The hybrid LS's sold pretty well in Japan right ?
And I think the LS is the only Lexus model that sold well in Japan ? I think the GS and IS probably have too much competition from the much more established Toyota Crown's in Japan which are just as luxurious and well equipped, if not more.

In person, you can see a distinct light blue tint on the Glacier Frost, which is usually not that obvious in pictures, unless you have a regular white Lexus parked next to it for comparison.
By the way, this is not a through-the-window shot, I purposely rolled down the window to take the picture, as you can see that there are rain drops on the inside of the door of my SC430 because it was raining outside.

That lot has too-tight parking spots and is notorious for keying vandals & door slamming rugrats.
Even one of my daughters got keyed when she worked there.

In our small city of 400,000, there is another LS600h in the same colour. My daughter spied it, but on closer inspection said she knew it wasn't mine - it had scratches. My baby is blemish-free.
Annoying to have a twin in the same city though... I might have to look it up and suggest the owner put a nodding dog in the rear window for differentiation

2000 Lexus LX470 (traded and missed)
Mercedes SL500 AMG (garage queen)
Mercedes SLK 230 (wife's toy)
Suzuki Grand Vitara (rain & runaround)
