Default AWD LS in a snowstorm

Yesterday, I drove my AWD LS600hL about 75 miles in a heavy snow storm that dumped about 16 inches of snow with the temperature around 7 (I was returning from the white mountains in New Hampshire).

The car tracked perfectly and safely. The only issue (other than a false error message when I first started the car claiming that the Hybrid system had failed) was the front windshield.

Because of the outside temperature, the wipers kept getting coated with ice and became worse than useless. Several times I had to pull over and scrape the ice from the wipers. Also, the defroster was barely able to keep the moisture on the windshield from freezing.

I suppose this is common to any car in such cold weather....

The day before, I had to snake up a few steep, winding, snow/ice covered roads. No problems whatsoever, although the Inn I stayed at suggested an alternate route back, correctly pointing out that going DOWN those same roads might not be as effortless.

Have you thought of getting the snow wipers with the boot? I assume they must be available, but I wouldn't know because I don't take my baby out in the snow!

Yep, its hard to go too fast going up a snow covered incline, but its pretty easy to go too fast going down same!
