Default Color Choices

I am thinking of getting an LS460L AWD in opaline pearl with a black interior. I notice that in Chicago, they rarely sell the car with that color, and I am wondering why. It seems like it would hide dirt well. Any thoughts about the opaline pearl, pros and cons? I wonder why it does not sell more frequently. Would it affect resale value down the road?

I was considering ordering this color, but when I went back to view it for a second time, I noticed a "pinkish" color/tone. It shows up in the sun, at certain angels. Good luck with your shopping!

can you make that combo when you build the car on lexus.com?

lexus is not flexible like bmw or mb, sometimes some combos are just hard if not impossible to come by. if you can build it on lexus.com, you can probably order the car. but you might have to pay more

They don't stock it because it's not a popular color. People come in to look at it, and realize it's almost pink in certain lights, and pass on it.

I've got some swamp land that might be a better investment.

Yep, there are some colors that the dealers perceive to be less popular that they don't order. We had Glacier Frost up here for 2007 LS, a very light shade of blue like the pink is to the Opaline Pearl.
They cancelled it just after one model year & they didn't replace it with Opaline Pearl or any other paint. I have seen a Glacier Frost LS460L a couple times in my neighborhood though (could be the only one they ever sold ?? 'cause I am not aware of another one that exist)...

I've seen an LS in just that combination. Even in the sun, I found the color to be rather faint. It looked more white to me.

jgamze, you should buy it because you like it. It's not common because not many buyers want it. By definition, that means it will have a reduced resale value.
