Talking Prestigious nav override ROCKS!

A Lexus-caliber THANK YOU to Mark and Prestigious Society for an incredible override kit. And an LS460-sized (long wheelbase!) THANK YOU to Joel Lawrence who kindly helped me install it. I shouldn't say "helped me" since he actually did all the work and I just watched in awe

The hardest part of the install is removing the parts and pieces that cover the nav system inside the dash. Hooking up the unit after that is a cinch. And it works like a charm...imagine driving down the highway, and being able to check your phonebook, find a gas station or review the information of the address you've entered in guidance. It's a godsend.

Can't recommend this kit highly enough. Thanks to all again!
Diane

What's the difference between the system P.S. sells and the other from Navtool?

navtool is the one that gives you another video input right? PS unit is an override unit that allows you to use the nav when driving. navtool allows video from their source to play on the screen when moving only i think

Thanks Henry, I registered for the recent group buy for the Navtool system, but what I am really after is the P.S. module. I'll get in touch with them...

If I am correct, NavTool itself (plug and play portion) gives user the video output (DVD player, etc) only while the car is in "Park" position. Furthermore, once its installed, you will lose the OEM aux output. If you wish to view the video portion while the vehicle is in motion, you will need to cut wire (they said they provide instructions on how to cut wires).

I have the PS unit for approximately 1.5 yrs. Luv it, keeps me from irritating my nav by "no can do madame". Now she is in control and dictates which exits I have to take so she can get her caffeine fix.
