$5.93 USD per gallon...
I filled up the car yesterday, using Chevron 94 (as I do from time to time, but perhaps no more). It cost me $1.601 CAD for a liter, working out to $5.93 USD per gallon at this morning's exchange rate and 3.7854 liters/gallon.
Mommy.
Mommy.
dont forget to convert canadian dollars to USD!!!
right now, 1CAN = 0.97ish USD
so us BC residents are paying about $6.11 per gallon.
Oh, carbon tax kicks in July 1st, about 7 cents per liter or 28 cents/gallon yippy.

Well, of course, indexing to the temporarily deflated U.S. dollar is not an accurate way of measuring the price. If you go by the exchange rate of only 18-24 months ago, that gas cost you only about $4 USD a gallon (the same as here).
Carbon tax? You gotta be kidding. As soon as this goofy global warming voodoo is shown to be the tax-collection scam it is, good Canadians will storm the Parliament and throw those goons out. (Opinions mine, of course.)

My calculations accounted for the exchange rate on that day.
Luckily the carbon tax starts out around $0.024 a liter then doesn't max out at $0.072 until 2012...
