How is this lowering done? Dealer or others? How much does it cost? I am in Wisconsin. Any problem with lowering during snow season? I use separate snow tires of course. Thank you.

you need air controller. definitely not from dealership. it's aftermarket. you can get it from prestigious society, email chung@prestigioussociety.com

i don't know how much it costs now. nothing to do with snow or not

Chrome or no chrome? Are chrome wheels too 'flashy"? Just wondering if chrome is in style or not for such cars..

Its really pref. I tend to like diamond cut with chrome lip. It works both ways depending on color, but I went with all chrome on this car. First find a wheel that you like and then see what your choices are. MAKE SURE THAT YOU LOOK AT THE WHEEL ON THE CAR, because alot of time the wheel looks good until you put it on, and then it just doesn't work looks wise. My fronts are 265/30/22 and my rears are 295/25/22

Default 20" VOSSENS on LS 460

I just installed 20" VOSSEN 082 MACHINED WITH SILVER ACCENT FINISH 20x9 wheels and NITTO INVO 245/40ZR20 tires on my 2008 LS 460. No question that 22” wheels look awesome on the LS but I needed to tone it down a bit to maintain a more serious image which will be better accepted within my professional environment. These are excellent quality 1 piece wheels which provide a good alternative to the pricier 2 and 3 piece wheels. Check out the web site for VOSSEN and NITTO. There was no problem balancing the wheels and the tires provide excellent performance wet or dry plus give the benefit of a quiet smooth ride. my pics are too large for the Forum guidelines. If you like for me to send you some pics, please send your e-mail address to 4rio@bellsouth.net and I will send some either PDF or jpeg.

Good Luck!

just added some pics to the ls 460 gallery

I wanted to post the pictures but I am unable to get the file size down. if anyone is interested, I can email..
I got the 20" wheels. They look fantastic but... i get a wobble/vibration in the steering wheel. the tire dealer said he will check balance again. the lexus dealer said that I might need spacer rings which are sold by the rim manufacturer. has anyone used such spacer rings?

I somewhat find your comment interesting about toning it down with 20 instead of 22" wheels bcos it does not exude a serious image ....I put wheels on my car bcos I like them and also that they look good on the car. I dont live my life or spend my $$ based on what anybody else thinks. Now if somone was paying my car note then perhaps they could have some say.........

Good Luck!

Your wheels are not hubcentric wheels that is why you have some vibration. You need to contact the place you got the wheels for some hubcentric rings.

Default Oem Tires

Hi,

I was wondering if any of the members with aftermarket wheels/tires would sell their oem tires (235/50/18) epecially if they are the dunlops. Need some for some HRE wheels I picked up.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Nate

my wheels were not balanced properly. they rebalanced the wheels and installed plastic hubcentric rings. I don't know which one of the preceding two solved the problem but the vibration has gone down 90%. They have ordered aluminum hub centric rings.

The appearance is fantastic. The ride quality, i must say, is not as good as the OEM 19". Its tolerable of course. I am not sure but I think even the rate accelation is slower.. very slight sluggish feeling. Recently, I drove a loaner with 18" wheels and it seemed faster..

Overall, I am glad I did not get 22". I just would not have liked the ride.

Appearance wise, I am more than pleased with my 20". Especially because of the design of my chrome rims which have a very wide lip!
