all those harness are at the back of the audio unit. you will need to take apart the shift plate area panels, then the ashtray. then you can access the audio unit. once you pull it out, look at the back of the unit and you will be able to see all the connectors, factory wirings, etc...

when you get the vaistech unit, it will come with their own harness (two ends, one mail one female). so you unplug one connector (factory) from the audio unit, and plug that into the harness from vaistech.

then the other end of the harness from vaistech, you plug it back into the factory audio unit.

i hope this helps? i have done a lot of nav override install so i have seen the back, but i don't think i have picture of the back of audio unit. let me see what i can find

Thanx Henry , The configuartion is understood but the problem is with the head unit, i looked so much in the car thinking that it might be hiding somewhere. But ended up with nothing. I hope you can help me what to unplug to reach the head unit. Thanx.

you are in luck man

here's a picture of the BACK of the audio unit (where you put in the CDs, etc...) so you can see there is a row of 3 WHITE connectors. from reading vaistech's instructions, seems like you are playing with the right one

sorry to jack the picture by prestigious society

oh, lol, head unit means the unit where you controls all the audio and insert the CDs. and they are talking about the BACK of the unit, so that's why you couldn't find it

otherwise, you can get me the ticket and i can use a short vacation to dubai

lol, with free tickets i am game

no, you just have to pull it straight out (the audio unit is held down by 2 screws and couple of clips). but in order to access them you need to remove the shift plate and the ash tray and the panels right by the side of center console

what do you mean by lexus workshop? dealership? i don't know about it over there, but here in the US, unless dealerships carry those aftermarket parts, they probably won't touch it

and knowing myself, i will probably just do it in my garage so i know what's going on.

What i meant from the picture above, will the configuration have many wires outside , or all wires will be hidden like the picture above ?

no, vaistech is US base and i don't even think they have a shop

all the wires will be hidden behind the audio unit, there are tons of space. you just run that wire underneath the shift plate for example to the armrest area for the ipod

wow tmv22, awesome review there. thanks for all the work, big props to you!!!!

it's a bummer about the video, that it's still controlled through the foot brake. that's indeed pretty "useless" i have to say.

about the 117 songs limit, i guess it really depends on how many songs you put in a folder like you said. i usually put it according to cd so i should be ok

but the video issue, that's a shortcoming i think

great video review shame that you can't bypass the video lockup.
