I think it looks like Truffle Mica too, but Verdigris Mica is also possible. Sometimes it's not easy to tell apart subtle paint colors like these in pictures, they can both look gray in pictures.

Similarly, just from the pic posted above, you can't really say for certain whether the Prince of Monaco's LS600 is Black Opal or Black Sapphire.

I liked that too! Air Force One--Ichiban--Numero Uno--etc.

Also noticed that the Monaco royal LS license plate looks like 'MC 01' I guess "Monaco 1"
ooh.....now i want to get my license plate to say '2'..........we can't all be royalty

Come to think of it, I remember sitting in the back of an LS 600h L exec at Taste of Lexus (yes after I drove once, the next time was back on the ottoman chair like a king), and I seem to recall a different shaped floor mat there.

Lexus doesn't do any armor modifications, if they want they could have a specialized company do it. I've seen a website advertising armored LS 430s.

I wish they would do the armouring themselves

Hi all.

There's a Japanese armoring company called Securico who armors cars like the new Lexus LS. Here are some pictures of a 600hL they are working on.

It seems that for the doors, they are using brand new parts for modification. May be they don't want to ruin the Black Opal Mica.

The site has not been updated for a while. If there's an update, I will put up the new pix.

enjoy,

Very cool, thx for the pics! I wonder who the armored LS 600h L is for? And is the very last pic a W126 S-Class?

I found one of the U.S. sites I was referring to with armored LS 430s available:

Vehicle & Armoring Specs:
--2006 Lexus LS Armored Sedan
--Complete Armor Package, Level B-6 (Euro Std.)
--4.3L V-8 Engine, 290hp
--6 Speed Automatic Transmission
--All Ballistic Materials Are Certified By American & German Laboratories

Complete Ballistic Protection Package
--Complete Overlapping Passenger Compartment Protection System
--39 mm (1.5 inch) multilayer ballistic glass (certified) with anti-spall layer along and ballistic
steel plate overlap along edges.
--12 mm (0.50 inch) minimum thickness ballistic steel armor plating (certified) located in
columns, pillars, roof, doors, door locks and mirror mounts, fire panel, and rear seat
--Molded custom roof & floor explosion protection (Ballistic Composites and/or Ballistic Steel)
--Protection for both 90º and 45º shots including fuel tank , battery and engine computer
protection (ECM/Electronic Control Module)
--Five (5) Hutchinson run-flat tire inserts/devices
--Operable front windows, 7”-8” of opening (For optional rear window package add $3,500)
--All critical points in vehicle upgraded and reinforced, including pillars, posts, hinges, chassis
points and suspension system
--Optima® Bullet-Resistant Battery
--Wire mesh tailpipe protection
--Additional options available by request
Here is the website link:

http://www.lascointl.com/vehicles/06lexus.htm

And a second website:

http://www.mushriquiconsulting.com/sm01_a.htm

Both have 'B-6' level armored Lexus LS sedans.
