Default Those with Opaline Pearl....Beware.

Don't crash your cars!!!

I went to Lexus to get an estimate to paint my body kit. Lexus said that they do not have the paint color to match and will not have it until January.

There are two cars on their lot with body damage that have been sitting there to be fixed for a month already.

What BS from Lexus!!!

Paint wholesalers are usually well ahead of the curve, and can match automotive paints using any manufacturer's code. Failing that, they can also match colors using a computerized digital matching system that is extremely accurate, and this is especially useful for coatings that have faded due to ultraviolet exposure. The science in automotive paints is developed and controlled by the large paint manufacturers, not the car companies - so there are no secrets there or anywhere for that matter. Dupont is one of the big boys on this side of the pond, but there are others worldwide like Akzo Nobel, PPG Industries, ICU, DuPont, Valspar, BASF, Sherwin-Williams, RPM, SigmaKalon, Nippon Paint, and Kansai Paint.

Don't wait for Lexus (or their cozy friends). There are a lot of reputable shops out there that can put manufacturers to shame with their skill and knowledge. Yes Lexus (Japan) stands out in the crowd with their finishing skills, but they aren't the only ones and remember, Lexus Japan won't be doing the work.
