Just turned 63. I bought my first LS400 in 1990 at the age of 45, before some of you were born. Clearly a selection effect here - many of the owners in their 60's don't do the internet.

Hi- I am new to this website. This is an interesting topic because I am a stay at home mom with a 2 year old and 4 year old and all of my mom friends drive minivans. So I feel pretty spoiled that I get to drive an LS460L every day. We just traded in our 2007 RX 400h for a 2007 LS460L.
I am 30 and my husband is 31 years old.
I am probably one of the only people on this forum that have 2 car seats in the back of their LS.

The spacious interior of a luxury flagship is truly paradise for a youngster, I remember a younger relative of mine crawling on the floor of a LWB vehicle way back then. It was literally two 'sandbox' spots in the backseat space, separated by the driveshaft tunnel.

It's interesting to hear of carseats in the LS 460 but I do think it is more common with the RX and ES.

The LS460L has sooooo much more leg room for our kids. They can't even reach the front seats to kick them or put their feet on them. The RX that we had...had barely any leg room for them.
I wouldn't trade my LS for anything.

LOL! Thats exactly what my wife and I thought when we saw the back of the 460L. We only have one rear-facing infant seat in the back at the moment, complete with some huge musical mirror thingy strapped to the rear headrest so she can see the little one

back on topic though, wife drives the 460L and she is 30. im just responsible for the mods to the LS

Default Age of LS460 Owners

I'm thinking about moving up to the LS460. But I live in a FL city which is a bit slanted towards the elderly. Given these demographics most 460 drivers are on the older side. I'm in my mid 40's and don't want to be driving around an old man car. What do you guys think? Thanks.

i think bottom line is whether you like the car or not. you get 50 yr old driving ferrari too, that doesn't mean the car is for elderly right?

here in socal i know quite a few guys in 30s or even 20s driving ls460. i for one bought the ls460l and i wasn't 30 yet

Search this Forum (upper right)

enter "age of buyers"

BTW, I'm 102 and I prefer that 70 and 80 year olds NOT buy this car since they tend to give it a hot rodders image.

Are we talking dog years, or human...?

In reality, the LS hasn't taken off in the Lower Mainland Vancouver, but the owners I have spied that do own one are in the 40-50 year bracket. I would think anyone over 70 would shy away from buying a relatively large car like the LS. It's harder to park, and maneuver in tight spots. I say, to hell with what everybody else thinks, if the car feels right and appeals to the logical half of your brain, then go with it. Don't let society's dictates influence your place in this world. Otherwise you descend to the level of a lemming...

I'm 40yo, I agree with Burnaby! It doesn't matter what your age is, it's about what you like. I bought an LS460L because I was tired of the reliability issues that plague euro cars.
