nav, phone, and dvd playback at my finger tip (slightly 56k aware)
well, the wait is over... so who said overriding the ls460 system is all that difficult? 
with the ls460 system a lot more complicated than the other lexus models, i have been looking around to see what are my options. finally found a reliable setup and tonight we tried to put it in a ls460. guess what? i will let the pictures speak for themselves
dvd playback (look at the speedometer)

yup, the mystery is solved ls460 override is done! this system is of very high quality with all the harnesses and switches, and most importantly, it's completely plug and play!!!!! no wire splicing and cutting. it has a switch, you press a button and the nav is overridden and you have 5 mins to do whatever you want (input phone numbers or put in addresses). when you are done, press the button again and nav back in action and re-calibrate itself. otherwise system goes back to normal after 5 mins.
there is another button for dvd playback when the car is in motion.
it's so awesome!!! tested for a while and everything works like a charm!
i have eyed on this system since a while ago, but no one in the US carries it or sure sure if it works. finally a place was able to order it for me (at my own risk) and now i have proven it
anyway, if you are interested, you can talk to the shop directly. www.prestigioussociety.com or shoot an email to chung@prestigioussociety.com i have dealt with them quite a bit lately, they have been great

update 10/19: cd track list is enabled when driving. POI fully enabled when driving. phone transfer enabled when driving (all at a push of a button)

lol, anyway, i will be able to drive the car more today so i will test it out more. prestigious society is located in socal.
unfortunately per forum rules we do now allow any GB unless it's through CL approved vendors. i actually asked the vendors about the product but they couldn't get it
that's why i just post the shop info here
btw, the installation is pretty involved. after all you have to pull out the whole nav unit, which means taking out the shift plate, panels, radio. took me and my friend about an hour to do everything

When you dial "Prestigious Society", all you get is a fast busy, indicating an out of order phone. At least when you dial the number listed on the website. If this plug in allows access to album lists and tracks and lists of POI's while in motion, generally defeating the two main obstacles to functionality: The motion sensor and the GPS sensor, it will make the car truly perfect.

really? that's weird. just shoot them an email, i am sure they will reply.
i am pretty sure the POI is working. i didn't try (only tried destination input) yesterday, but i remember the DEST screen, instead of everything grey out except emergency, all other icons were alive too
will look at the album list too. there is no song in the car hdd, but i can see if playing cd i can jump to any track, etc...

FYI...
I just spoke to Mark at PrestigiousSociety and at this time they don't have the price for this override. I was told that they will probably come up with it later today. He took my phone number and will call me as soon as they do. I told him that there will be a lot of members on this forum interested in purchasing this unit and he said he will consider that when they think about the price.

Nice, that some good news! Sucks that owners have to go out and do this on our own but at least it's available.
Since they're not a vendor, how much is it for the system?

ray, lol, ride in ls460? hopefully one day when i have the car. the unit actually works on 2is and 3gs as well, you should get one
