I agree that the car is really fast. I remember seeing some pictures of someone smoking the rear wheels which I never thought I would see an LS do

Not mine. Even in power mode when stomping on the gas it doesn't affect the A/C. I have certainly found that to be the case in my previous, less expensive cars, but I always figured it was one of two things:

- Lexus actually puts enough power in their cars that even with the A/C on you can get the job done.
- Lexus figures that their customers want to ride in comfort, even when smoking the pants off other drivers!

An a/c compressor would have a greater effect on an engine with lower HP than on an engine with greater HP like the LS. So the whole point may be moot in this case.

I dont really agree with all this fast talk around here, BUT I will say it does stop quite well. I had to stand on the freakin brakes tonight cause some lady in a hummer wasnt paying attention and almost rammed into us. The car went 40-0 in 3 nanoseconds.

Your 'fast' is quite different from other people's 'fast' in this thread mr Ford GT.

One thing i like about lexus is their braking performance. Sure the pedal feel is crap, but the actual braking performance is phenominal!

haha I concur. An SL 55, Ford Gt, and Viper SRT 10 are fast- faster than the LS 460 for sure.

But I think it's fair to say the LS 460 is relatively fast given what it's meant to do - provide a smooth, comfortable, effortless driving experience. Comparing its accelerative brunt to its primary competitors (S550, BMW 7 series, etc.), the LS is not too shabby, especially given a base MSRP price tag that's smaller than its competitors' price tags.

I always feel like the LS 460 gives more for the money.

Beating a 5.0 'stang is no biggie. I had a '66 VW Beetle that would do that in reverse...

Yes, I guess you guys are right.

I do have to admit though, I am no longer Mr. Ford GT. I got rid of my GT and my Viper. I did pick up a GT500 with about 650HP to help fill the void.

The car is reasonably quick for what it is, but when thinking of fast cars, it does not come to mind. When thinking about comfort, it's one of the first that come to mind.

^^ I agree, by any means I meant to imply that the LS is a "OMG super fast" car... I had my share of fast cars in the past, from tricked LS1 / LS7 powered beasts to some other shiny expensive turbo specimens but hey... at this point in time I could care less about the fastest car on the streets, all I need is comfort with decent power and the LS delivers

When I want fast I wear my crotch-rocket.
