Yeah, but my GTO is even quicker and way ruder about the way it bangs through the automatic's gears, going sideways on the 1-2 shift if you're not careful.

In my two test drives of the 460, I note Lexus does not allow such inappropriate behavior. It sure is fun though after the shift to second is made and it feels like a 747 on a takeoff roll. Which is why I am waiting patiently to pick up my 460 in about 2 weeks. And no, the GTO stays-the CTS is going bye-bye, not so much because it it a bad car but the Caddy dealer's service department is run by a bunch of bafoons.

^^ I agree, I had a 2001 Ram Air WS6 6-speed manual with 450hp at the rear wheels (all cam and heads) and it was way faster than the LS no question. But I take the LS any day, it's more of everything hands down, although smoking 315 tires in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th was a lot of fun.

Your analogy with the 747 is perfect!

The guys and gals at the F-body (Camaro/Firebird) and GTO forums don't seem to get it. Actually I think they get it but cannot afford an LS, so they bad mouth it instead without knowing anything about it. Maybe it takes my 52 year old aches and pains to appreciate what Lexus is all about.

You need to get a LS to really see, the RX is not in the same league.

F bodys not in the same universe.
Look up a few posts- I drove the 460 and have a Nobel Spinel Mica swb LS scheduled to arrive in port on April 14.

I have the Lex and a Trans Am and there isn't anything similar except they both have tires.
