Default Radar Cruise Control

I ordered my new LS460 and I am still waiting to get it since it has the radar cruise control. Now the dealer reports that they have finally got a vin number for it. Does anybody know if this feature will brake and sound alarm for you anytime you get too close to an object like the Mercedes distronic plus, or does it just do this when you have the cruise control turned on? Any feelings concerning this feature? Thanks.

I've ordered mine with the Pre-Collision and Dynamic Cruise Control also. I was unable to test drive a car equipped with it because there is litterally not a single one in the entire New England region. The reasoning I heard was it may not function is snowy weather. Which seems ridiculous to me because you wouldn't be using CC in a snowstorm anyway.

I don't know if it will sound an alarm. From what I've seen in the Lexus videos it does not. If it works anything like the one on the Infiniti, I can't wait for this option. Once I used this I swore I would never own another car without it.

If it works like it did in my '03 LS430, it only does those things when you have the cruise control active.

There were times I had to DEACTIVATE the cruise control when it mistakenly thought a large truck in another lane was in my lane and started warning me as I approached.

I'll never buy another car without this feature..... Without it, cruise control is VERY limited.

I've heard that the LS600hL has the Mercedes like system where the cruise control remains active all the way to a stop rather than cutting out in the low 20's.

Thanks...

Just a little thing though: the LS will not stop completely. The MB does when slowly decelerating to a stop, but the LS will not stop completely.
