I was on the 60 Freeway in SoCal near Riverside where I saw a police car and a fire engine tending to what looks like an accident on the outside lane. I saw the first car involved in the accident which was a Toyota Sequoia SUV and the other car involved looked like a new Camry. Upon closer look, it was not a Camry but a LS460 with its driver's side taillights smashed. I'm sure there was more damage to its bumper but I did not look at it very long. Funny thing is I hardly see the new LS460s on the road and I had saw one maybe 15 minutes before I drove past the accident as I pointed out to my friend what a huge car the new LS is.
The owners of the LS looked fine and if they are on this forum - maybe they can share their side of the story.

I almost got hit the day after I got mine.
Travelling on the 5 in the middle lane, and traffic stopped on the left lane ahead of me. A car on the left lane beside me didn't slow down enough, and his car hit the brakes and came screeching and veering into my car.
Luckily, he went back into his lane and rear ended a pickup truck.
I'm pretty sure he was thinking, "Should I hit the $90k Lexus, or the $15k Chevy?"

Good News - Sorry for the Chevy, but the jumpstart to your heart was enough damage.....Originally Posted by PhilipMSPT

"I almost always never drive in the far left lane...I'll let the speed demons have their lane
But yeah, driving nowadays is more about evasive/defensive driving

Edit: On a side note, how does the laser cruise work in an emergency braking situation for the LS460?

With Radar Cruise, if you get too close to a car too quickly, it will slow down a bit AND beep a loud audible sound AND flash a bunch of red lights on the dash AND tighten all seat belts.Originally Posted by GS3Tek

That threw me off. What I thought was enough space was not enough for the car's safety devices...
