The lexus bluetooth system made by Denso looks for the OPP protocol in order to transfer phone numbers (see your owners manual). Would love to know which protocol Motorola implemented in their BMW bluetooth.
If you look online, certain Verizon RAZR can do phone transfer. Supposedly the feature was left enabled on the early phones with firmware version 02. Later RAZRs with version 03 disabled the transfer function. Some people have claimed to have re enabled the feature by applying firmware version 02. I don't have a RAZR, so I can't confirm.
I believe the 300 has the older version navigation system (gen 4 or earlier) so am not sure that it has a voice recognition system. The current GSs have the gen 5 navigation system that is much the same as the LS in terms of how the bluetooth phone system works along with self recorded voicetags that enable the voice recognition system to call the right person when you say their name. You might look at the CL forum on the GS 300 to see if there is any information on voice recognition and bluetooth phone operation.
