Is it possible to play DVD -R with MP3 files in the DVD player of the Lexus LS460 ? If yes, how- Can you copy the MP3 files to the HD of the car ?

You can only copy from CDs to the HD. The system will play MP3 and WMA in CD-R and CD-RW formats.

yes, the system can only rip audio cd, not mp3 dvd. it can't "copy" files like that (pretty stupid if you ask me).

and for mp3 format, i believe it only reads from cd and not dvd

If the songs were burned to the cd it will copy them to the hard drive. But if they were files copied to the disk it will not work.

My suggestion is to burn music to cd-r and then download to the hard drive.

DVD-A sounds great but can not copy to the hard drive.

correct, it will not. it only plays CDd with mp3 files
