I find it interesting the different regional names for the colors...
Lexus South Africa for instance has "Glacial Blue," "Tuscan Olive," and "Namibian Gold."

I think some HK people love them I've seen more gold color cars there than anywhere else since I was a kid, gold mercedes, RR, etc..
This gold paint on the LS460 is particularly unattractive, I've seen better versions on other cars, like the champagne gold on the Audi A8 I've seen in person actually is not bad at all.

i wouldn't touch them with a 10ft pole. down right horrible....

I finally saw the Alabaster in the dealer last week. It is so close the Cashmere that I had to go back and forth between cars to realize that it was different. My conclusion was that I like them both.

Since Ford produced his first car there was black color and everything else. Black will never go out of style. Especially in luxury car segment. Other colors may look new and sound interesting initially, but will inevitably become outdated and will be replaced with newer tints with new weird names. Only true black color remains unchanged. A black luxury car will stand its ground next to any other color.
I also voted for black interior. Light interior will show signs of wear very quickly. The mats will get dirty, the seats will have marks. Light interior looks new only at the dealership. Black interior always looks new. I have a 12-year old Infiniti Q45 with black salon and it looks cleaner than my 3-year old Honda Odyssey with tan interior.
Black-on-black may not be the best choice in SoCal, but it maintains the car value better than any other combination.
That's what I think, anyway. And looking at the poll, black-on-black wins.

I ended up with Obsidian exterior/Black walnut interior for my LS600hL, but the Black Opal exterior was really my first choice - it looks really good with the lexus "badges" that have the purple halo's around them.

More evidence I've never been one to follow the crowd.
However, its all personal choice. No one should settle for less than exactly what they want, whatever the color. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

They always have a gold/champagne color for the LS in previous generations too, so do the S-class & the Audi A8 ,etc..
I never really like it on any of these models, but seems like this is the worst gold paint I've ever seen. It looks so dull & bland, the one I've seen on an Audi A8 in an auto show looks much better.
