Felix -- let me try and post a photo of our car that clearly shows what I'm describing...

I may have missed something but this should be an issue in states that don't require front tags, should it?

Not unless they want you to advertise their dealership on the front bumper...

then you probably won't need any holes in the front bumper to begin with

I mentioned this subject to my (Ca.) dealer before delivery and he told me they did not attach or do anything to the front bumper unless requested by the owner. My car was delivered untouched.......

for most dealerships here, when you don't want front plate drilled in, now you need to sign a waiver
I asked the dealership not to drill holes in the front bumper for my '99 GS400 and two current vehicles. Last week, I told the salesperson not to have holes drilled in a soon to be delivered LS460. Matter of fact, I haven't put the rear plate on my GX yet I got a ticket in the GS400, from the CHP, for having the driver and front passenger side windows tinted but fortunately, the officer didn't go around to the front of the car. So far, no tickets for not having a front plate.

1. Looks better
2. Have driven this way for 20 year
3. CHP only issues a fix-it ticket
4. Just because the gov't says it's a good idea doesn't make it reasonable, and no one can really demonstrate that this is a significant isse.
5. Has anyone out there actually lost a plate or had one stolen???
