4LS Official ROLLCALL Thread!!

very nice rear and roof spoilers ,,, Where did u baught them from ? Privte please ..
I picked mine up on September 29th, the day after I retired!
It is a 2007 460L (built in 7/2007) and arrived earlier that week at the dealer. They claim this is only the 4th Exec Class they have received.
This is my second LS - My first (1991 LS400) died last year after 16 years and 350K miles.
Mercury Metallic (really silver) with Grey Interior (Same as my first) - My wife doesn't think the grey wood interior is real. It certainly doesn't look real.
4 Seats
Recliner - I like the Stretch massage with vibration - slightly better than the Shiatsu setting.
Just about all of the bells and whistles.
I just learned how to use the perpendicular parking - the parallel is next!
Really like the intuitive parking assist - the warning beeps and visuals help from coming too close when parking.
ML sound system - very nice sound - I've loaded about 50 CD's so far with the 256K resolution - looks like it will hold about 110 CD's. One small dissappointment, DVD-A's will not record to the HDD, but SACD's will (it is reading the CD layer).
Checked out the wind noise, transmission hesitation and glove box rattle - all are no problem. I compared the sound level to a new ES350 - no comparison, the LS is much, much quieter. I don't have my old LS400 to compare.
In the 17 years since I bought my first LS (for about $46K), the price has gone up by between 50% and 100% depending on how fancy the model. If you are comparing technologies - as close to an apples to apples comparision would have the increase equal to or less than inflation. However, the technology has skyrocketed. There are about 10 times as many buttons as on my old car and the manual(s) are like reading an encyclopedia. Fortunately, you can drive the car without knowing how to use all the buttons.
Got the Costco discount ($4K below MSRP).

I saw the Costco discount sheet at the dealer. It showed, depending on the model, either a discount from MSRP or an amount above invoice. According to Costco, the dealer is supposed to show the customer the invoice if asked. The LS460 had a discount from MSRP. The 600h was on the list as having no discount. The ES350 had a relatively low mark up over invoice (don't remember the exact amount). There was no differentiation between model years on the list.
This sheet could be changing with time. Also there may be variation among dealers. My speculations.

Havent driven it too much yet - 36 miles on it when I took delivery last night, now there is 80.
L600hL, Black/Black - every option, except 4-seat "exec" - I was on the overall waiting list (#3) - with a custom order for the 4 seat, but the #2 person (owner of the dealersip) passed on this car (not sure why), I initially passed, the #4 person went for it, but his financing fell through, so it was offered to me again, this time I decided to go for it - I simply got tired of waiting for mine to show up, and they couldn't tell me when it would arrive.
This one had absolutely everything I wanted - the colors (I debated between obsidian and opal) - this one is obsidian, it has the radar cruze package, etc - everything you can get except for the reclining rear seat - oh well - it will probably be easier to resale the 5 seat version anyway when it comes to that - plus it gives me more options for hauling my kids friends when I have to... The other "cool thing" is the dealership owner had the stock wheels chromed, and they look great. I'll post some pictures later.
I totally hate the navigation nanny - I hate that on my wifes RX as well, but that's about the only thing I hate about it. It sounds like from one of the other boards that there is a work-around in progress for that. Really nice touches that are small, but the attention to detail is really nice:
* The morrors fold in when in park
* The rear sunscreen retracts when you put it in reverse
* I love the keyless entry
* I thought the heated steering wheel was a gimmick, but this morning I tried it and damn, it really is "warm" - put a big smile on my face. :-)
Other things - yes the trunk is small, but not "that bad". I was expecting a 12x12x36 in space, its much bigger than that - enough for a 3-4 carry on size luggage.
Performance - power to spare - acceleration is VERY smooth, and lively, no matter if you are starting at 0mph or 60mph. It's a bit soft (even in sport mode), but this isn't supposed to be a ferrari - I'm on the wait list (#1 or #2) for the LF-A, which I'm sure will be a lot more firm. Anway, this is a lux sedan, and it's not suppost to be that tight in the corners. :-)
Now if only reviewers could understand the difference :-)
Anyway, overall, I'm pretty pleased. One thing - this car turns heads. One guy almost got in an accident because he was looking at my car, not the road :-)
