LS 460 Officialy arrives
The Good News: Yes, the launch happend today, and it was some show. Light, music, the works. The showed around 14 cars with every color and shape. The even had a three course dinner from the four seasons .
At the end they past out cool gifts, including a 1GB memory card that is the size of a credit card. This card had some info on the the car and its specs.
Which gets me to the bad news, As expected, alot of things are missing, including the adaptive CC, No Park assist and NO HARD DISK, which I find very dissaponting, . This should have been a fixed option for the local dealer as everyone will be comparing this feature to other luxury cars, and it would have been an advantage at very low cost.
Anyway the other bad news I noticed was the Horse power, the specs say it is a 340HP and not 380 as in the American version. I do hope that I am missing something here, because 40 HP is a big diffence.
I have including a PDF of the specs, please review and let me know if there is anything else missing.
And if anyone is in Saudi, you should be able to see the cars Sunday in the Lexus showrooms.
Take care

Riyadh LS 460 Launch
As Aboslaeh said the launch event was last night in the Four Seasons Hotel. It started 7:30 PM and lasted 'till 10PM. The main highlight in the presentations part of the event was Moritaka Yoshida who is the LS 460 Chief Engineer. He talked about how they came up with the L-Finesse concept and how some suppliers changed their operations to live up to the new demands of the new LS.
The most important thing for me was to see the color I selected both external and internal. I saw it and I love it. I got into all three models ( 460, 460L and 460L Exective) and I can say that internally, except for the executive model, they are all almost the same. I know there has been alot of talk about what is missing from the Middle East models but I will shed light what is extra on the models. All models have the following as standard accessories; rear and side electrical sun shades, cooler, A/C control for front as well as rear seats, and memory seats in the backseats.
On my table was the General Manager ( I think he is the owner as well) of Theeb Rent A Car Co. and he said that they are getting four cars (short model) tomorrow so if anyone wants to have an extended trial of the car, they can rent it from Theeb.
I loved the car so much that I was one of the last people to leave last night. I still do not know when will I get the car, but the salesman assured me that all customers will receive their cars before the end of Feb. He said that delivery will start today. I will try to post some picture I took with my mobile so do not mind the quality of the pics. Once I get my car, InShaallah, I will post high quality pics.

I don't know if I'm slightly disapointed with our specs... I mean yes sure it still IS an unbelievable car and I defenitly would get one without even thinking twice about it, but it seems that we won't be getting most of the "cool" features that the US/EU/JP markets get. I'll reserve my judgment till the 15th when I see it. I really wanted the APGS!!!
Oh well, maybe Ratwa or Araba will get those full spec LS460l from the US.
